Chamber Mourns Passing of Community Champion

Davis R. Chant Realtors was founded in 1964 in Milford by Davis R. Chant, born in Port Jervis, NY and grew up in the Milford area. Chant passed away at the age of 84 on April 22, 2023.

Shortly after graduating from college, Chant opened the door to Davis R. Chant Realtors which has five offices and 100 associates handling residential and commercial real estate in Eastern Pennsylvania, Northern New Jersey, Catskill Mountains, Hudson Valley of New York, and as well as being licensed in other states.

Chant became the Treasurer of the Pike County Chamber of Commerce in October of 1964 when it was known as the Pike County Association. He remained a member of the Pike County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors for 58 years. Davis received the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2017 and most recently served as Director Emeritus of the board.

He has been a true leader of the community and willingly gave back at every opportunity. Chant was also involved in numerous non-profit organizations. He was a true treasure to not only the Pike County Chamber of Commerce but all the communities he served. He will be greatly missed by all.
