Safe Haven of Pike County, Inc. is pleased to invite you to become a part of the solution.
Beginning on September 11, 2012, Safe Haven will offer its newly designed 70-hour training program. This curriculum will enable you to serve the victims and survivors of domestic violence and sexual abuse by becoming a Volunteer Advocate. Upon completion of the program, you will be prepared to serve on our 24 hour Hot Line, as well as volunteer in our agency offices and assist our staff.
This program will run for three nights each week, generally from 6:00pm to 9:30pm, through September and October, to complete the newly established guidelines set into place by the PA Coalition Against Domestic Violence and the PA Coalition Against Rape.
We hope you will consider this commitment to eradicating the issues of domestic and sexual violence in our county. For more information, or to schedule an intake interview, please call Diane at 570-296-2827.
The violence can only end with your help. Join our cause today, and bring hope and dignity to survivors of domestic and sexual violence.
On Sunday, September 9, 2012, Safe Haven is holding its annual "Behind
Closed Doors" House Tour, showcasing some of the amazing homes in Dingmans
Ferry. The success of this event, and all of our special events, depends on
the generous help we get from our volunteer helpers. Would you like to be a
part of making this day a success? We need helpers for two shifts, 10:30
a.m. - 1:30 p.m., and 1:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Helpers are welcome to
participate in the tour for free (a $25 value) when not on duty. Just reply
to this e-mail with your up-to-date contact information and the shift you
are available to work on September 9.
If you can't help with this event, but might be interested in helping with
our upcoming "Paint Pike Purple!" events, please let us know.
As always, thank you for your support of Safe Haven!
