WAYNE MEMORIAL TO OPEN PHARMACY WITH DRIVE-THRU
There’s a new drugstore in town opening on Monday, October 21, 2013. It’s called Wayne Health Pharmacy and Medical Equipment, and it’s located in the Stourbridge Professional Complex at Maple Avenue and Route 6 in Honesdale. Operated by Wayne Health Services, a subsidiary of Wayne Memorial Health Foundation, the newly remodeled retail store combines a pharmacy with the existing durable medical equipment business.
“The pharmacy offers a new drive-thru option for prescriptions and over-the-counter medications,” states Gary Beilman, board chairman of Wayne Health Services. “The marriage of the durable medical equipment store and pharmacy services bring expanded hours of operation and one-stop shopping to the community.” One phone number, (570)253-6770, conveniently connects you to either the pharmacy or the medical equipment store.
“Wayne Memorial Health Foundation, which is an affiliate of Wayne Memorial Health System, and our subsidiary, Wayne Health Services, are pleased to announce the opening of this pharmacy,” said Wayne Memorial Health Foundation Executive Director G. Richard Garman. “We believe it answers a need, particularly at the Stourbridge complex, for exactly what this store has to offer.”
Garman pointed out that the complex, which is owned by Wayne Health Services, has dedicated most of its space to medical services. Other tenants include the Honesdale Family Health Center, Honesdale Surgical Associates, the Together For Health Dental Center, Wayne Memorial Rehabilitation, Wayne Memorial Home Health, Northeast Rehabilitation Associates, DaVita Dialysis and physician offices for Philip Gutherz, MD; Philip Hlavac, MD; Mark Cruciani, MD; and Mark Micciche, DPM.
“The patients who frequent the offices here and the people who work here have expressed a desire for the convenience of a pharmacy closer to their providers, and that’s what we are now offering,” echoed Wayne Memorial Chief Executive Officer David Hoff. “Moving the employee/outpatient pharmacy from our hospital campus to the Stourbridge complex creates the necessary space for additional surgical services, which are growing rapidly here at the hospital.”
The board is excited about this expansion,” said Beilman, “Wayne Health Services Durable Medical Equipment has been in existence at this site for almost three decades. We are proud of our past and look forward to serving the area’s medical equipment and pharmaceutical needs.”
Wayne Health Pharmacy and Medical Equipment will be open Monday through Friday, 9am – 6pm and on Saturdays from 9am to 1pm. You can reach us by phone at (570) 253-6770, or by fax at (570) 251-6585.

FLU SHOTS AVAILABLE FOR WAYNE MEMORIAL COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTERS' PATIENTS
Healthcare providers at Wayne Memorial Community Health Centers’ (WMCHC) primary care and family health centers, located throughout Wayne, Pike and Lackawanna counties are encouraging all of their patients to receive the flu vaccine this year.
