2nd annual Pocono FoxTrot
Saturday, June 18, 2016 is the confirmed date for the 2nd annual Pocono FoxTrot 5K for Parkinson's Research to be held at Ann Street Park in Milford, PA. Last year those who participated helped us to send $22,200 to the Michael J. Fox Foundation to help find a cure for Parkinson's.
It was a great event:
ē 215 registered runners or walkers
ē Local and national resources to help those of us living with Parkinsonís and our care partners
ē We raised awareness of this debilitating disease
This year will be even better!
Our goal for 2016 is $30,000. Begin Fatherís Day weekend by supporting a disease that affects more men than women with an estimated over 1 million people in the USA living with Parkinsonís and more than 60,000 newly diagnosed each year.
We hope we can count on your participation: donate, walk, run, and attend! Bring your friends and family.
Once again, there will be a great after-party! The 5K course is designed for runners and walkers, but the 1 mile course is designed for the rest of us. It is flat and paved. Wheelchairs and people with walkers are encouraged to join us. There will be vehicles available to take anyone who needs it back to the park itself. Letís raise some money, learn some things, and have a great time.
Our website www.poconofoxtrot5k.org is set up for 2016 and ready for registration and donations. Sponsors with links to their websites will be listed as they come in.
See you on June 18!
