Home Water and Septic Workshops
Penn State Extension
Carbon, Monroe, Pike, & Wayne Counties
Did you know that wells and springs provide a large percentage of the water supply to residents of the Pocono counties? In addition, many residents also rely on on-lot septic systems to treat and dispose of their wastewater.
A Home Water and Septic System Workshop, conducted by Penn State Extension, will provide information on how to protect, test and treat private water supplies. Septic system inspection and maintenance will also be discussed. Learn how to protect your health, your property and our shared groundwater and surface water resources.
The Home Water and Septic System Workshop is available twice at two locations: Monday, March 23, 2015 from 1:30 - 3:30 pm and 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the Monroe County Extension office, 724 Phillips St, Suite 201, Stroudsburg PA 18360 or, Monday, March 30 from 1:30 – 3:30 pm and 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the PPL Environmental Learning Center, 126 PPL Drive, Hawley PA 18428.
These workshops are free, however, pre-registration is required. The first 30 registrants will receive a free copy of “A Guide to Private Water Systems in PA” at both the Stroudsburg & Hawley workshops. There will also be free drinking water testing for the first 60 registrants at each location. Sample collection instructions will be provided at time of registration.
To register for either the Stroudsburg or Hawley workshops, go to http://extension.psu.edu/natural-resources/water/courses/home-water-and-septic-system-workshop
