Annual Banquet in Honor of President Emeritus Barbara J. Buchanan
The PCHS will hold its annual banquet on Wednesday June 8th, 2016 at The Settlers Inn. We will take the opportunity to recognize the outstanding efforts put forth by Barbara Buchanan to have the Lincoln Flag recognized as an official blood relic of the Lincoln assassination, as well as all her hard work and generosity towards the Museum through the years.
It was 20 years ago this June that the scholarly research on the flag by then President of the Lincoln Group, Joseph Garrera, was published, thus recognizing the blood stained flag as one of the most important flags in American history.
Her work in making the flag the important artifact it is today was devoutly continued, in recent years, by Museum Director Lori Strelecki. Last spring the flag travelled back to its place of origin, Ford's Theater; there it was part of a historical exhibit, including several other Lincoln Blood Relics, to denote 150 years since the beloved President's tragic death.
We hope you will join us on the 8th to honor this very special lady.
The event starts at 6:30pm with cocktails in the Garden at The Settlers Inn. Dinner and program to follow. Tickets are $75. Reservations may be obtained by calling 570-296-8126 or emailing pikemuse@ptd.
