For almost 25 years, Safe Haven of Pike County Inc. has been Pike County's sole resource for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and other serious crimes. In that time, Safe Haven, it's staff, board of directors and volunteers have worked hard to eradicate domestic violence, sexual assault and other serious crimes through prevention, education and the promotion of social justice. Through services such as counseling, emergency shelter, safety planning, legal advocacy, medical advocacy and more, the agency directly serves more than 400 victims of domestic violence and 300 victims of sexual assault and other crimes each year. Not limited to just direct services, Safe Haven also hosts community trainings, education prevention, outreach, correctional facility programs, school-based programs, and coordinates the Pike County Task Force on Interpersonal Violence. Later this year, the agency will be opening Pike County's first Children's Advocacy Center, in coordination with Pike's Multi-Disciplinary Investigation Team. For almost 25 years, the agency has grown, prospered, and provided services to Pike County that are desperately needed.
As Safe Haven of Pike County, Inc. approaches this record milestone, we are entering into a month-long partnership with The News Eagle to help spread the word about our mission, services and celebration of 25 years of helping to eradicate domestic violence, sexual assault, and other serious crimes.
