June Programs at Grey Towers

MILFORD PA – Arts, culture and history are the focus of special programs planned for the month of June at Grey Towers National Historic Site, 122 Old Owego Turnpike, Milford, PA. Mansion and garden tours are given every day on the hour from 11 am to 4 pm.

Thursday, June 4, 10 AM-4 PM, FREE: Come Paint with Me
This free plein air painting program is open to the public. Bring your own materials; Grey Towers provides the inspiration! This program is non-instructional. Meet at Grey Towers' Visitor Pavilion. No reservations needed. Rain or shine. 570-775-6896 or
Saturday, June 6, 5:30 pm, FREE: Lecture: Gifford Pinchot and Dispatches from the Old Timers
In this first in a series of lectures about Gifford Pinchot and his ground breaking accomplishments, author Bibi Gaston will share excerpts from more than 5,000 pages of letters written to Pinchot by the men and women who worked for him when he started the US Forest Service and served as its first chief from 1905-1910. The letters are raw and emotional and reveal a leadership style that is to be admired! A special “Meet the Scholar” reception will follow for members of the Grey Towers Heritage Association. Saturday, June 13, 1 – 4 PM, FREE: The Art of Lacemaking:
Watch as the Lost Art Lacers of North New Jersey practice the art of lacemaking. Learn about the Pinchot lace collection, some of which is in the Smithsonian.
Saturday, June 13, 5:30 pm: Chamber Music performance
Kindred Spirits Arts Program cosponsors Ancien Regime Baroque Trio, an ensemble performing the music of 18th century French composers. For info, tickets, or call 570-296-7429.
Saturday, June 20, at Dusk, FREE: Outdoor family film and craft activity
Grey Towers Heritage Association cosponsors Ice Age 2, an animated film with an environmental message. Bring a picnic dinner! Free craft activity for kids starts at 7 pm. Call 570-296-9625 or contact for details. Rain date: Sunday June 21.
Every Day: Beginning Memorial Day weekend, regular tours of the Grey Towers mansion and grounds are offered every day from 11 am to 4 pm through October 31. Guided tours bring visitors through the first floor museum of the mansion and the gardens. On weekends, all three floors of the mansion can be toured at 4 pm.
