John Bell, Superintendent of the Delaware Valley School District, reads to the children of The Ann Street School
In support of early literacy, The Ann Street School hosted a guest reader. John Bell, Superintendent of the Delaware Valley School District, shared with young readers the 2015 PA One Book, Every Young Child selection, Number One Sam by Pennsylvania author Greg Pizzoli.
The children loved the opportunity to have a guest from our community share their time and support for early literacy.
The PA One Book, Every Young Child is Pennsylvania’s collaborative project using the vehicle of “One Book, One State” program to highlight the importance of early literacy development.
This is the tenth year the One Book, Every Young Child program has promoted the importance of early literacy by emphasizing the importance of reading early and often to children, as well as engaging them in conversation and other activities around books.
This year’s selection, Number One Sam, demonstrates a balance between empathy, competition and sportsmanship.
The Ann Street School is a non-profit, private, academic preschool. As a Keystone STAR 3 center, The Ann Street School prides itself in proving high quality early learning programs to the community for over 25 years.
