Conservation District Board and Staff Complete Roadside Clean-Up

The Pike County Conservation District completed their road side cleanup along Route 402 for the Adopt–A–Highway program on Monday, May 19, 2014. After their regularly scheduled monthly board meeting, Conservation District board and staff picked up 28 bags of styrofoam cups, bottles, cans and other garbage along the two-mile section of state highway in Blooming Grove Township. This cleanup was completed in partnership with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s Great American Cleanup of PA campaign. To find out more about the Conservation District visit or call 570-226-8220. Pictured from left are Conservation District members who assisted in the clean-up: Marianna Quartararo, Ellen Enslin and Pike County Commissioner Richard Caridi. Groups and individuals can show your care for the environment by getting involved in the PennDOT program and volunteering to clean up a section of roadway; visit PennDOT website for more information.
