Announcing the Merging of Rodgers-Olver-Polley, Inc. and Sheeley Insurance Agency

Since it’s inception in 1948, Rodgers Insurance Agency has merged 11 different agencies into its daily operations, beginning early on with the Bentley Insurance Agency, which dated its service to the Wayne County community back to the 1890’s. With the addition of the Kelsey Olver Agency and later, Russ Polley’s agency in Lake Ariel, the name was changed to Rodgers-Olver-Polley, Inc. to reflect these changes. Here, despite some additional mergers and acquisitions, the name has remained for the past 40 or more years.

Effective May 1st 2016 Rodgers-Olver-Polley, Inc. merged with another area Independent Insurance Agency, Sheeley Insurance Agency, located in Stroudsburg, PA. we have chosen to partner with this organization because they came highly recommended and I believe the principal of this agency holds the same high standards of doing business and providing the same high level of customer service that Rodgers-Olver-Polley, Inc. has strived to provide over the past 65 years. The agency name going forward will be Sheeley Insurance Agency Rodgers-Olver-Polley, Inc. but will transition to simply the Sheeley Insurance Agency at some point in the future.

In this day and given this economy, there are definite benefits to size and efficiency. As a larger organization we can be more attractive when looking for new and competitive insurance carriers and products to meet the needs of our customers. Combining our agencies will double our gross annual premium volume to $15 Million dollars and achieve a 50/50 balance of commercial and personal line volume, increasing carrier profitability. In addition, we will be a member of the Keystone Insurers Group, giving the agency access to an array of standard and specialty commercial lines products.
I believe this merger will accomplish these goals.

At Sheeley Insurance Agency Rodgers-Olver-Polley, Inc. you will see very little change from this merger. You will see and talk to most of the same friendly faces, working out of the same offices, using the same address, and phone numbers. John Hollister, former VP, at R-O-P will continue to be a principal in the new entity and manage the Milford Office. Christopher Lord of the Sheeley Insurance Agency will be the President and CEO. Peter Rodgers will remain, but in a consulting capacity continuing to serve several long time clients.

Most importantly, we have enjoyed working with all of you over the past years and sincerely thank you for trusting us with your insurance needs. The Sheeley Insurance Agency Rodgers-Olver-Polley, Inc. will continue to work to earn your business in the years to come with added products and services available to you as a result of this merger.

The Sheeley Insurance Agency Rodgers-Olver-Polley, Inc. will now have offices in Honesdale, Dunmore, Milford and Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. You can get additional agency information at the following:; and on Facebook.
