Join Kittatinny Canoes 25th ANNUAL “ON AND UNDER THE DELAWARE RIVER CLEANUP”

July 21st through July 23rd 2014

Kittatinny Canoes announces it’s 25th year of On and Under the Delaware River Cleanup.

Since 1990, the Delaware River has been cleaned every year by Kittatinny Canoes. This includes two National Recreation Areas: The Upper Delaware Scenic & Recreational River and the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area.

Our first day, July 21st meets at 8:30am at Kittatinny Campgrounds located at 3854 State Route 97, Barryville, NY 12719.

Our second day, July 22nd meets at 8:30am at our Dingmans Base located at 2130 Route 739, Dingmans Ferry, Pa 18328 which is right next to the Dingmans Ferry bridge.

Our third day, July 23rd meets at 9:00am at our Matamoras Base located at 1147 Delaware Drive, Matamoras, PA 18336 to sort all the trash we collected.

Most of the volunteers come every year and have become friends. Every cleanup is like a big reunion. Returning volunteers will be accepted first to fill the quota of at least 100 volunteers per day. New volunteers will then be accepted from a waiting list. Volunteers can camp free in either of our two campgrounds and are served breakfast & dinner, Monday and Tuesday. If you are unable to attend but would like to support our efforts, donations may be forwarded to Kittatinny Canoes, PO Box 382, Milford, PA 18337.

During the past 24 years 8,547 tires, 8,544 pound of aluminum cans and 439.98 total tons of trash have been removed.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer or if you are media covering this event, call Kittatinny Canoes at 800 356-2852. This special event will complete a quarter century of river cleanups!
