“Scenes from the 20th Senatorial District” Photo Contest
Could Land Your Creative Picture in a 2015 Calendar
Pennsylvania’s 20th Senatorial District spans from the Delaware River and Pocono Mountains in the east to the Susquehanna River and Endless Mountains in the west with unique communities dotting the landscape in between.
From rolling farms to bustling Main Streets, picturesque vistas throughout the many boroughs and townships that make up the district are a photographer’s dream. Residents are proud of the historic structures, natural beauty, events, wildlife and people that make their towns special.
Whether it’s that little, old church you drive by each day or an eagle nesting above the river, the annual parade or a school sporting event, Senator Lisa Baker wants you to share the sights and scenes from your area with your 20th District neighbors.
She’s encouraging people to snap pictures while they’re out and about in the district, that encompasses all of Pike, Wayne and Wyoming counties and parts of Luzerne, Monroe and Susquehanna counties, and submit them for inclusion in the contest through Aug. 31.
The contest is open to all individuals, but photos must have been taken within the boundaries of the 20th District. Photos must fall into one of the following categories: Animals, Architecture, Events, Landscape, Nature, or People.
Once all the photos have been submitted, those going to http://www.senatorbaker.com/photo-contest will be able to vote for their favorite photos in each of the six categories until Sept. 30.
The winning photos, based on the public vote, will be featured in the 2015 “Scenes from the 20th Senatorial District Calendar.” The photo receiving the most votes overall will be highlighted on the calendar’s cover. For the remaining photos, the two top vote-getters in each category will serve as a featured month in the calendar.
