Wayne Memorial Opening Outpatient Facility in Hamlin
The building which once housed generations of students as the Hamlin Elementary School will now serve as a site for primary care, women’s health, laboratory and radiology services. Wayne Memorial Health System announced it will begin seeing patients on June 16 at its newly remodeled property located at 543 Easton Turnpike in Hamlin.
According to John Conte, real estate and facilities services director, Wayne Memorial Hospital, major renovations were made to the building to transform it from elementary school to health center. Because the existing structure consisted of various levels, “the back section of the building was removed in order to adapt to ADA requirements.” Additionally, a new façade and entrance were added to the rear of the building.
The nearly 10,000 square foot layout has given way for multiple services to be provided under one roof while allowing space for compartmentalized treatment areas for each.
