The Dime Bank’s 2013 SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS
The Dime Bank has awarded scholarships to three students from Wayne Highlands, Wallenpaupack, and Delaware Valley school districts based on their academic and leadership capabilities. To be eligible for The Dime Bank Directors Award the students must be furthering their education in the field of business, economics, finance, management, or accounting. Each graduating senior was presented with a check for $1,250.00 to attend the college of their choice. Holding the check are students Karin Lemon from WHSD and Mason Gallik from WAHS. The Dime Bank Donates to Northeast Innovation Alliance
The Dime Bank presented a $1000.00 annual pledge as a Workforce Skill Builder to the newly re-named Northeast Innovation Alliance, formally known as Workforce Wayne. Northeast Innovation Alliance, recently designated as a Community Education Council, is a nonprofit organization of business, education, government, economic development, employment services, and community entities in the Wayne and Pike county region. “Receiving support from The Dime Bank assists Northeast Innovation Alliance with our initiatives which include developing a workforce prepared to meet the needs of a growing, twenty-first century economy,” stated Executive Director Lyndsay Birmelin. Other Northeast Innovation Alliance key initiatives include facilitation of the Pike/Wayne Business Education Partnership, training for businesses and individuals, and regional transformation by supporting lifelong learning through higher education. Regarded as a Regional Workforce Expert in Northeast Pennsylvania, Northeast Innovation Alliance through strategic, collaborative, and innovative action continues to maximize resources, enhance communication, and promote a comprehensive workforce delivery system. Vice President Jill George stated, “The Dime Bank is proud to support Northeast Innovation Alliance. Their attainment of the Community Education Council designation along with their ongoing initiatives, are a true testament of the Alliance’s ability to positively affect our local economy.”
