Upper Delaware GLBT Center Presents a Winter Classic Film Series Hosted by Author, John DiLeo

The Upper Delaware GLBT Center (UDGLBT) is proud to present a classic film series to be held at the UDGLBT Center located at 201 W. Harford St., Milford, PA beginning on Wednesday, January 15th at 7:30pm and then every other Wednesday, finishing on March 12th. This series, hosted by John DiLeo, will feature the “Great Leading Ladies of Hollywood’s Golden Age,” including Judy Garland, Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe, Claudette Colbert, and Katharine Hepburn. All are welcome and the series is presented FREE of charge!

John DiLeo is the author of six books about classic movies, including Screen Savers: 40 Remarkable Movies Awaiting Rediscovery and its sequel Screen Savers II: My Grab Bag of Classic Movies. You can learn more about this remarkable man, Milford’s own movie maven, by visiting his website at

February 12 – Bus Stop (1956) – Marilyn Monroe proved she was a sensational actress when she played a would-be singer in this touching comedy-drama based on the Broadway hit. Monroe gives the performance of her career, which includes an unforgettable rendition of “That Old Black Magic.”

February 26 – Midnight (1939) – One of the great screwball comedies, this Cinderella story stars the witty and elegant Claudette Colbert (It Happened One Night) as an American stranded in Paris with nothing but her evening gown. Passing herself off as a baroness, Colbert crashes high society.

March 12 – Summer Stock (1950) – This underrated musical gem showcases the triple-threat talents of the phenomenal Judy Garland. Here she sings her classic version of “Get Happy,” and also does some impeccable dancing with Gene Kelly, plus gives what may be her funniest performance.
