Pike County Arts and Crafts Inc. is pleased to announce it’s annual summer Young Artists Workshops in August with member/artist Marie Liu.
Now in it’s 63rd year, PCAC continues to be a vital community organization that brings regional artists and community together. Helping to bring art and creative opportunities to kids in our community is an important way that PCAC can help nurture the love of arts in our future generations. “Kids naturally enjoy creating and making things, all we really need to do is encourage them and give them the time and opportunity to do it. It’s great to see how they become so engaged and focused on the task at hand.” says instructor Marie Liu.
Long time member of PCAC as well as the ARTery Gallery and Artisan Exchange in Milford, Marie has developed quite a following of young artists through several series of classes that she has offered in recent years. Creating arts and crafts from around the world, exploring different techniques and mediums, and learning alittle something about the history, culture and importance of the art forms.
This summers projects will include a mixed media painting ‘Poster for the Black Bear Film Festival’,
weaving with fabric, printing techniques and collage.
The workshops are held on the first 3 Wednesdays in August from 10:30 - 1 pm at the Milford Borough Hall 109 W. Catherine St.
The cost of $75 includes all the supplies that the kids will need.
