Rustic Chic Wedding Venue opens in Dingmans’s Ferry

Lake Nichecronk located on route 739 in Dingmans’s Ferry will be opening this fall season for rustic chic wedding experiences. Collaboration between award-winning J-Angelo Event Planning and the Camp Speers-Eljabar YMCA has created a unique venue for the couple who wants to experience a one-of-a- kind wedding experience for their special day.
Nestled in the peaceful beauty of the northeast Poconos and wrapped around its own sparkling 42-acre lake, Lake Nichecronk is a year-round venue that offers an exceptional setting to share their meaningful and life-affirming experience. Founded in 1948, Lake Nichecronk (means Crystal Clear Waters) features both the Great Hall and the Pavilion facilities immersed in natural settings.
The Great Hall is a log constructed facility which can hold up to 150 guests. Its expansive windows and open concept construction renders one a feeling of truly communing with nature. The Pavilion which can accommodate 150 guests, with its vaulted wooden arches, is an open-air construct just steps away from the wild flowers and gravel paths surrounding it.
Lake Nichecronk is available to host day-of weddings, as well as, can provide an entire weekend destination experience for you and your guests with cabins for lodging. Located on 1100 forested acres there are trails for hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, and nature discovery. In addition, the waterfront offers canoeing, kayaking, row boating, sailing swimming, and fishing. For the more adventurous, there is high and low rope courses and climbing towers – all supervised by highly qualified staff. Our especially beautiful Pocono mountain winters give our guests the opportunity to offer ice skating, cross-country skiing, sledding, ice fishing and snow tubing when conditions permit. Our specialty is a cozy traditional campfire for all seasons.
“We are so excited about having weddings here at Lake Nichecronk,” says Camp Speers-Eljabar YMCA Director, Cherie Hammond. “We had our first wedding just a month ago with the assistance of James of J-Angelo Event Planning and it went very well.”
“It is important to point out, “Says Cherie, “that all proceeds from weddings held here at Lake Nichecronk go towards funding the camp: It’s all about the kids.” Camp Speers-Eljabar believes that the benefits of their high quality camp experience should be available to every child and teen and they make every effort to provide financial assistance to campers who would otherwise not be able to participate in the many benefits of camp experience.
