(Honesdale, July 17, 2012)…Workforce Wayne accepted a donation of $2500 from Wayne Memorial Hospital in June, monies that will continue to help fuel the group’s efforts at building a comprehensive workforce delivery system in Wayne County. “Workforce Wayne is focused on developing career opportunities and strengthening workforce skills to meet those opportunities,” said Wayne Memorial Hospital Chief Executive Officer David Hoff. “As the largest private employer in the county, we stand to benefit significantly from their work.” Among other initiatives, Workforce Wayne just opened a Wayne/Pike Technology Training Lab at the Hawley Silk Mill this summer and is advancing the planning and design of a Pike/Wayne Career and Technical Center. Both counties represent two out of only three counties in the Commonwealth without “this critical piece of a workforce delivery system,” said Lyndsay Birmelin, Director of Workforce Initiatives for Workforce Wayne. “We are grateful for Wayne Memorial’s help in fulfilling our mission.” Photo left to right: Lyndsay Birmelin; Cheryl Duquette, Workforce coordinator/Workforce Wayne; David Hoff; WMH Public Relations Manager Lisa Champeau.
