Jeff Bank plans to open Port Jervis branch
Jeff Bank, Sullivan County's largest banking institution, plans to make a foray outside its home base by opening a branch in Port Jervis.
Jeff Bank announced Wednesday it has applied to the FDIC and New York State Department of Financial Services to open its first location in Orange County. The bank operates 12 branches, all in Sullivan County. It had a 34.1 percent market share in June 2015, the largest of any bank in the county.
"We believe this is an opportunity for us to expand our brand in a new, larger market," George W. Kinne, Jr., president and CEO of Jeff Bank said in an email.
The Port Jervis branch will open in the summer at the current location of Sussex Bank on Fowler Street, which is slated to close April 29, Jeff Bank said in a statement.
The new branch will provide individuals, families, businesses and non-profit organizations with a full range of financial services, including checking and savings accounts, consumer and commercial loans, CDs and home mortgages.
