Access Physical Therapy & Wellness sponsors ‘Safety First’ conference in Goshen for business owners, human resources & safety personnel, supervisors


A one-day “Safety First” Industrial Medicine and Safety Conference for human resources personnel, safety personnel, supervisors and business owners in the Orange County area is scheduled for Tuesday, April 14, at the Harness Racing Museum and Hall of Fame in Goshen.

Sponsored by Campbell Hall-based Access Physical Therapy & Wellness, the conference will feature regional and local experts on OSHA rules and regulations, safety assessment, writing an expenditure proposal, post-offer testing and employee wellness, among other topics. More than 15 vendors will also be on hand to share information.

Seminar topics will include: “Implementing a Wellness Program,” presented by Karen DeBonis, director of health and wellness services for Rose & Kiernan Insurance; “OSHA 102 – What to do When OSHA Knocks on Your Door,” presented by John Reinemann, principal industrial hygienist at Access Compliance; “Fostering a Culture of Early Return to Work,” presented by Jim Devitt, vice president of Emergency One; “How to Design and Implement a Facility Safety Assessment,” presented by Kip Score, senior director for Saratoga Safety; “Utilizing Your Lost Run Data to Justify Safety and Ergonomics Services,” presented by Kurt DeWeese of DSI Work Solutions; and “Post Offer Testing: Preventing an Injury Before Hire,” presented by Access Physical Therapy’s Lori Schneider, a doctor of physical therapy.

Vendors will include Access Compliance; Mount Sinai Selikoff Centers for Occupational Health; The Chazen Companies; Middletown Medical; Here’s Help Staffing and Recruiting; and Emergency One.

The conference cost, $25 per person, includes continental breakfast and lunch. Registration will happen from 7:30 until 8:15 a.m., with the conference starting at 8:15 a.m. and ending at 4:30 p.m. The Harness Racing Museum and Hall of Fame is at 240 Main St., Goshen.

Attendees are encouraged to take their business cards to share with other attendees and enter raffles.
