Runner, Walkers Sought for Grey Towers’ 8K
MILFORD, PA – Registration is now open for participants in the Grey Towers Heritage Association 8K Run/Walk planned for Saturday, April 25, 2015. Participants at all levels of expertise are encouraged to take part in this annual springtime season kick-off.
Organized by the Grey Towers Heritage Association and the US Forest Service at Grey Towers, the race will start and end at Grey Towers, ancestral home of Gifford Pinchot, founder and first chief of the US Forest Service and two-term Governor of Pennsylvania, and include parts of the Pinchot Greenway in the Borough of Milford and the Milford Beach in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. Please note that runners will be running on open streets and a portion of the race is along a dirt road. Course monitors will be in place to ensure safe street crossings.
Entry and Chronotrack Fees: Adult: $25 plus Chronotrack Fees before April 1, 2015; $30 plus Chronotrack Fees after April 1, 2015; Youth17 and under: $15 plus Chronotrack Fees; Children under 12 (accompanied by an adult): $5.
Awards will be given to the top placed runners in each age category (Male and Female):14 and under; 15-20; 21-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70+
This is the third year that GTHA is organizing this event. Last year’s participation was so successful the event is being improved and repeated! Proceeds will be used to refurbish Gifford Pinchot’s favorite canoe for a future educational exhibit and to re-plant the historic wildflower field at Grey Towers.

• Saturday, Aug. 1 and Sunday, Aug. 2: Eleventh Annual Festival of Wood, including wood crafts and demonstrations; exhibits; children’s activities, music and more!
• Tuesday, August 11: Fee-free day to commemorate Gifford Pinchot’s 150th birthday
• Saturday, Sept. 26: Community Appreciation Day and National Public Lands Day – A fee-free day of the mansion, music and a re-creation of Gov. Pinchot’s ice cream social.
