SAAM is about Education-

Sexual Assault Awareness
Month is Observed every April.

Safe Haven of Pike County, Inc.

will be offering events to help everyone to learn more about Sexual Assault
Safe Haven of Pike County, Inc. proudly welcomes this April as Sexual Assault Awareness Month for 2014.

Safe Haven presents a Four-Part Documentary/Lecture Series:

"The HERstory of the Women's Movement in America"

This will be held every Thursday in April from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., at The Pike County Public Library. Each week, this Multimedia series will showcase special times and events throughout the Women's Movement. The library is located at 119 East Harford Street in Milford. This event is free and open to all. Dates will be 4/3, 4/10, 4/17, and 4/24.

Because children are one of our most vulnerable populations Safe Haven invites parents and kids to attend this one of a kind family discussion:

"Using Children's Literature to Talk to Kids about Sexual Assault."

This event will take place at The Pike County Public Library on Saturday, April 12, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. We encourage parents and young children are invited to attend this free event. We will be reading age appropriate children's books that will teach safe-touch lessons that will hopefully last a lifetime.

Safe Haven invites our community professionals to improve awareness at:

"The Tri-State Conference on Human Trafficking: A Training for Human Service and Law Enforcement Professionals"

On Wednesday, April 16, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Best Western Inn at Hunt's Landing in Matamoras, Safe Haven will be offering this full day training. The $25 price per person will include a delicious luncheon. Presenters will include Enid Melendez from The Pennsylvania Coalition Against Rape, and Hugh Organ, from Covenant House in Philadelphia. Please call Safe Haven to register for this informative event.

Learning about Sexual Assault is one way to begin the process of ending it; please join Safe Haven of Pike County for these exciting and interesting events to educate and raise awareness this April.
