RIMBY’s - Right In Your Back Yard

Milford, PA – Irreverence with pizzazz is RIMBY’s restaurant, located on Route 739 in Dingmans Ferry. Known for their extensive menu, fresh ingredients and handmade delights, the restaurant is a treasure that promises to satisfy discriminating tastes within any budget.

RIMBY’s Owner/Chef, Doug Hines, created a menu that he refers to as Euro-American Fusion, and welcomes everyone to step up and try it. His appetizer’s offers everything for the discriminating taste from lavish to exquisitely simple. Items such as Escargot en Croup are listed eclectically next to hot wings and mozzarella sticks. RIMBY’s has a fully stocked bar and is able to serve up ice cold martinis and tall ones after a long day at work.

While many customers crave RIMBY’s sandwiches, burgers and Italian dishes, dinners which start at $8.95 are a popular choice. Where else can you enjoy a steak and fresh seafood for the price of a meal at home? RIMBY’s menu also offers a wide range of vegetarian dishes.
Everything the restaurant serves for dinner is also available for lunch. Customers are welcome to dine-in, or they can do like many local residents do and get their orders to go. “One of our most popular pick-up items is lobster bisque,” says Chef Hines.

“We are many things to many people,” said Chef Hines. “We have customers who come in one night and order $30-$40 meals, and then they return the next evening to get a pizza.”

RIMBY’s presents a special seafood and sushi night each Tuesday, and Chef Hines offers a different innovative ‘specials menu’ each night.

Doug Hines holds over 30 years of restaurateur experience and says he has studied under some of the area’s best chefs. In addition, Hines traveled the globe when he served in the United States Marine Corps and honed his skills learning from many European Masters.

“At RIMBY’s, we create our dishes the old fashioned way,” said Hines, “everything is created from scratch. We grind our cheese, use fresh ingredients and do not make meals ahead of time.”

Many people wonder about the name of the restaurant. Doug Hines says it stands for “Right In My Back Yard,” a play on the “Not in my back yard” (NIMBY) protest slogan.
“I grew up in this area, and there were so many ‘NIMBYs’ who complained about the growth and in flux of new people in this area,” explained Hines, “I’ve looked forward to it and welcomed the new people, so I dubbed myself an ‘Anti-NIMBY’, or a ‘RIMBY.’

Stop in at RIMBY’s for a fantastic dining experience. The restaurant is open from 11:00 AM till 9:00 PM, Sunday through Thursday, and 11:00 AM till 10:00 PM, Friday and Saturday. Call for pick-up service or more information: 570-828-7777.
